Does supplementing with D-Ribose cause blood insulin to rise?
(Q.) Does supplementing with D-Ribose cause blood insulin to rise? I read on a supplement site that in insulin-dependent diabetics, D-Ribose can further lower blood glucose levels and is good for maintaining energy in heart and muscle tissues. Since it is the base carb for ATP I was wondering if the body reacted differently to it.
(A.) Much better off getting Benfotiamine. It will allow the conversion of glucose in to ribose within the cell, just taking ribose by mouth it will not get in to the cell.
