Gluconeogenesis

(Q)

  • Gluconeogenesis

(A)

That's the liver overproducing glucose. When a person is following the diet properly, the evening sugar lowers before the morning sugar. That's because the evening sugar is determined more by diet and the morning sugar is determined by what the liver manufactures.

It can take several months or more for the liver to properly get the signals to stop producing excess glucose. Some of this has to do with visceral fat. As the visceral fat burns away from the liver it will get a clearer signal.
