Uric Acid
Hi Fiona, Can you please ask Dr. Rosedale to explain Uric Acid in details. I was reading several article on this topic at Me and My Diabetes site but would appreciate Dr. Rosedale explanation on this topic. Many thanks for your assistance.

Dr. Ron agrees with what was said on www.meandmydiabetes.com
'Note from Steve Phinney: What this shows is that uric acid goes up promptly in the same time frame that ketones go up, but after 4-6 weeks, despite ketones staying up, uric acid starts to come back down. Based on these data and my clinical observations in thousands of patients, uric acid returns to or below pre-diet baseline within 6-12 weeks despite the person remaining is a state of nutritional ketosis. Thus, when I’m asked how long ketoadaptation aks, I generally respond that some aspects of it take 6 weeks or more.'
In addition Dr. Ron adds that it might take longer to adapt depending on your age and how bad you were to begin with.

Hi Fiona
speaking of Uric Acid. Personally I ave adapted to the diet a long time ago, and a month ago took one notch up. I recentely had 43 (17-45 scale).
I suspect it means too much protein, but I'm not sure.
How does Dr Rosedale looks at it?
(remember it is blood urea.)

I meant Urea not uric acid (blood). If he thinks it is signify too much protein.
sorry for the confusion.
