Glycation/Bodybuilding???
Hi,
I am a 31 year old male an an extremely active and healthy bodybuilder. I eat only organic and follow Dr. Mercolas health plan. I heard about Dr. Rosedale through Dr. Mercolas anti aging cd I ordered. I am really looking for some help when combining the Dr. Rosedale eating plan with bodybuilding. I understand how I need to avoid sugar, but I also know the great effects of rasing my insulin levels especially post workout to help build muscle. I eat 3 organic bananas and 2 organic apples in the morning with 2 cups of spinach leaves and my krill oil with 300mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid. Should I be concerned with glycation at this time? I take one 300mg capsule of alpha lipoic acid 4 times a day. I try to eat low glycemic the rest of the day with my green carbs and proteins. I workout in the evenings about (5pm) and after my workouts I blend 3 cups of organic white rice with my cold processed grass fed protein powder. Then an hour later I have 3 packets of raw organic oatmeal with 2 bananas so I can benefit in the 2 hour post workout window for maximum muscle gains. I am trying to reduce my glycation, but also increase my muscle mass and gain another 20lbs of muscle. It just seems that it is really a challenge to do both as the things I need to do to gain a lot of muscle contradicts the things needed to do to reduce glycation. I really appreciate any help and direction as I have researched this online and can’t find any answers anywhere. My main goal is to fight the aging process (wrinkles) and still achieve a high muscle and bodybuilder lifestyle. Please help!! Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Insulin activity is not synonymous with insulin levels. What your goal should be is to maximize insulin sensitivity and not necessarily insulin levels post work out. Eating Rice will glycate and glycation causes wrinkles. Follow Dr. Ron's program and your will do great.
Best of Health.
