I would like to know whether Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) cause insulin resistance in the long term? I'm using this supplement to build muscle because I've had my thyroid removed and was subsequently placed on too high a dose of thyroid hormone. My metabolism when into overdrive cause aggressive weight (muscle) loss. The BCAA causes the blood sugar to drop significantly after exercise. I need to know whether BCAA is acceptable in the Rosedale Diet.

Double-edged sword. They also raise mTOR so I wouldn't overdo it. There are many articles about mTOR on our blog site. www.DrRosedale.com/blog
