Is this diet good for little children and people with IBS?
Hello,
I know that your website says that you can not respond to everyone
but I hope you will be able to answer my questions. First of all
should little children follow this lifestyle? I have a 3 year old
and a 8 month old. Should they not be eating cereals and avoid
milk (my 8 month old is still breastfeed which I assume is
okay)? Second I have IBS and whole grains are recommnended so that
I do not have an attack. Whould it be possible for me to go on this
diet without any IBS symptoms? I have PCOS which is what led me to
you. The research I have done shows that they recommend a
controlled or limited carb diet for PCOS, but my doctors have told
me for years to have a high carb diet for my IBS.
As you can tell I am a little confused.
I would appreciate your assistance.
Thank you for your time,
Angela

Dear Angela,
It is an amazing diet for children, and after a child is past the breast feeding age then there is really no need for milk and especially no need for cereal. Get your kids started on a good fish oil, the younger they start the better, carlsons is a great one in the bottle, lemon flavor. Dr. Ron is traveling right now, but I believe we have had many with IBS see great improvements when they started the program. Grains and all that added sugar will only create more inflammation which is what you are trying to avoid. Wondering if you have taken a lot of antibiotics in your life?
Wishing you the best of health.
The Rosedale Team.

Fiona,
Thank you for getting back to me. To answer your question - I am not sure what you consider a lot of antibiotics, but I have needed to take them twice both when I had pneumonia.

Twice is not so bad, we often hear that people have taken antibiotics several times every year, and for most of their lives since they were children. Antibiotics really mess with your gut flora and can cause all kinds of issues.
