helped. However, this question has been bugging me the whole time.
Which is more important? Low insulin or blood sugar?
My fastings are mid 80's usually. I eat 3x a day all consisting of
12-15 g protein and a smallish salad with a side of additional low
starch veggies. The question is...if I use a bunch of fat, my BS
goes up about 25-30 points and takes about 2 hours or more to come
back down to almost fasting. It rarely goes above 120 but if it
does it really bothers me.(should it?) If I use low fat (a TBSP or
less) it only goes up about 15 and sometimes less and comes back
down much faster. I understand the fat blunts or slows the insulin
response and the protein spikes the insulin but is it more
important to have the insulin blunted or the insulin to drive the
nutrients into my cells? I also wouldn't think, but correct me if
I'm wrong, that my insulin couldn't spike that high on 12-15 g
protein. I also only eat in a 6 hour window, noon, 3 and 6 and no
snacks so that as well should keep my insulin low. I also find the
more fat I eat the more weight I Iose and at 5'8 and 110 that is
not my goal so I would prefer lower fat but want to make sure my
blood sugar is good as well as my insulin. I know you can have low
BS and high insulin. I just don't know how to approach this and
would love some advice!!

Thank you so much

I'm not qualified to answer your question but I do have a
question to ask.
What type of low fat do you use - olive oil, MCT Oil, Coconut Oil,
etc.

Hopefully Dr. Ron can swing by with an answer for you.

Much appreciated and glad to see others on here that have been
using Dr. Ron's Health Plan for awhile ..

Wishing you the best ...

Occasionally I’ll use a tich of ghee but am dairy free
otherwise.
Why do you ask? Does it make a difference for you? I have been keto
for many years and am just trying to keep my type 2 as
‘healthy’ as possible. I can keep my BS low but the
rage is to keep insulin low. I can do that with fats but I lose too
much weight and also wondering if keeping it too low, I’m not
feeding my cells and sort of starving myself. Not sure if any of
this makes sense. I need some professional advice and so far the
Rosedale Diet has not failed me so I’d like to know what Dr
Ron has to say. I sure hope he (or staff) chimes in. In reality, I
probably do a little of both because I don’t eat the same
things everday but I do eat about the same portions. Somedays
I’m a little hungrier than others but I just eat more veggies
but then I add more fat to slow digestion and that’s when I
get higher readings.

Thanks for responding though

Kristin Nageltag:drrosedale.tenderapp.com,2010-09-16:Comment/297433142013-11-02T00:35:44Z2013-11-02T00:35:44Zlow insulin or blood sugar?

Hi Kristin

I have been doing a little experimenting with olive oil &
MCT Oil for a few weeks now - kinda watching how my system responds
- mainly trying to discover how to better improve my long term
health.

Dr. Ron's plan has been a lifesaver for me and say that without
reservation. My health was going down hill fairly fast just little
over a year ago and I have been around long enough to know that I
would have been very fortunate if I would have been alive within 3
to five years.

I have a lot to be thankful for - I have worked with patients
younger than me that were dying from diabetes and its related
afflictions.

As of this past June my doctor after a year of great lab results
has taken me out of the system as being a type2 diabetic - it is
great to be able to get off 3 daily meds and 1 daily injection for
it.

I am curious what kind of results others are having with olive
oil, etc. I can't give Dr. Ron's work enough props - it's simple
but really is a miracle. I think at times folks try to make it to
complicated, many do I think because of all the hype from big
money.

Guess I need not get on my soap-box - at least not now :-)

Sincerely Wishing you the best of health in the days ahead

Which MCT oil ?

Kristin Nageltag:drrosedale.tenderapp.com,2010-09-16:Comment/297433142013-11-03T03:22:56Z2013-11-03T03:22:56Zlow insulin or blood sugar?

Hi Kristin
Haven't discovered any major things as yet..

I like the taste of the MCT but it does cost more than olive - I
haven't used it like I have the olive oil - I think after the first
of the year I'll give it a good trial period, I'm thinking maybe a
90 day time frame and see how my system responds. I'm also thinking
of maybe one day olive oil and then next day with MCT Oil.

headache. What other kinds are there besides palm?

Kristin Nageltag:drrosedale.tenderapp.com,2010-09-16:Comment/297433142013-11-03T12:42:48Z2013-11-03T12:42:48Zlow insulin or blood sugar?

Hi Kristin
Coconut is all I have tried, no problems with it. Haven't checked
into any others.

I will get into it more around Feb 2014.

I have been waiting until Dr. Ron's vitamin/supplements and new
material are available before getting to far ahead.
