Sleep

Hi. I've been on a low carb diet like the one you describe here, and ever since i started, I can't sleep! I wake up after 3-4 hours and stay up the rest of the night. I know my cortisol levels can go up from lack of sleep, which might undo all my hard work, so I'd like to get this under control.

So my question is, do you know why I'm not sleeping? And what can I do about it?

I'm a very good sleeper otherwise on my normal diet (which is pretty healthy, but full of carbs).

and a second question, if I continue waking up in the middle of the night, is there anything I can eat/do to lower my resulting cortisol levels?

This morning I looked bloated and heavier from lack of sleep and the scale was up a pound...

Thank you for your help!

    Hi Stacie

I am not aware of any problems of sleeping as you mention in your post when following Dr. Rosedale's Diet recommendations.

Also, Dr. Rosedale no longer accepts patients nor consults since closing his private practice a few years ago.

I suggest that you purchase Dr. Rosedale's Diet book and follow his recommendations for a healthy diet. You may also find Dr. Rosedale's Diet Book in your local library.
