New Study on Fruit published in PLOS Medicine 4/17
I'm a fan and my father was a patient of Dr Rosedale. Now I've been diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 as well. I'm curious what Dr Rosedale would say about this:
Fresh Fruit May Benefit Diabetics. Daily consumption of fresh fruit may significantly benefit individuals with diabetes and may even prevent diabetes and related complications.
Researchers examined the effects of fruit consumption on almost 500,000 people and found that people who were not diabetic at the beginning of the study and who consumed fresh fruit in high amounts had a 12% lower relative risk of developing diabetes than the other study participants.
Furthermore, the participants who had diabetes at the start of the study but consumed fresh fruit more than three times per week had a 17% lower risk of all-cause mortality and up to a 28% lower risk of developing both major and minor cardiovascular complications.
PLOS Medicine, April 2017
Thanks,
Joshua

Hi Joshua,
My personal opinion on what Dr. Rosedale would do is: May or may not read research, then: Take the research papers and pitch them in the nearest waste can/basket.
Just saying ...

So you're "just saying" that Dr Rosedale does not believe in research that
might contradict his views. Doesn't sound like much of a scientist or Dr to
me!

Not at all Joshua, "I am just saying", my personal opinion - not Dr. Rosedale's
I do not find Dr. Rosedale afraid of research that might contradict his views - he has proven his research, especially to me. I am a fan also and I am alive today because of his research.
You stated above: I'm a fan and my father was a patient of Dr Rosedale
May I ask why you are a fan - do you follow Dr. Rosedale's Diet with his recommendations - do you know the probable cause of your Type 2?

Ken,
I'm a fan because he "cured" my father and I've had success with the diet myself.
Which is not to say I think it is perfect or my ideal choice of lifestyle. So if new research can tweak it, I'd be a big supporter and early adopter.
I respect Dr Rosedale but that does not make him infallible. Which is why I'm interested in his thoughts on the new research.
Thanks
Joshua

Hi Joshua,
In Dr. Rosedale's Diet Book: page 79-80 is what I base my opinion on.
Dr. Rosedale is in process of preparing new material, getting it ready for publication. A notice will be posted here on this site and Dr. Rosedale's main website.
I do not know what he will be covering, he may have addressed your question among other things.
Wishing you and your dad the best of health ...
