How to Get Fasting Insulin Low
No matter what I eat - including a low-carb diet - my fasting glucose stays 100 to 105 mg/dL and my fasting insulin stays 9 to 13 uIU/mL. I know Dr Rosedale likes to see the insulin down below 5. But if your glucose persistently stays high, insulin will tend to stay high along with it.
I can get my glucose to go lower if I do a three day water-only fast. But that is clearly not a sustainable way to maintain glucose. We can't live by constantly entering into starvation.
In Dr Rosedale's experience, what are some things he has seen in patients like this that keep their fasting glucose and insulin in the prediabetic range, even when they follow his diet? P.S., it looks like there are many people here in this forum like me. I see many posts from people following the diet who complain about fasting glucose levels over 100 mg/dL, and presumably those people have fasting insulins to match those high glucose levels.

We have found over the years that many folks are not actually following Dr. Rosedale's recommendations as they thought, and one of those reasons is, their protein intake is too high.

I don't suppose Dr Rosedale knows of any studies showing fasting glucose levels of prediabetics who eat different amounts of protein?

P One, my best guess is, he may have personal knowledge from his own prior clinical trials or some other knowledge.
