Help! Before I go shopping...

I'm about to customize my Green Bean order and wanted to make sure I got the right things (this week's order, unfortunately, is nothing but fruit. Obviously I placed that order BEFORE I started on this way of eating).

  • I don't see squash among choices in your book. Acorn, butternut -- are those taboo for the first three weeks?

  • Unfortunately after my second day of the diet, I have developed an aversion to nuts! I guess I ate too many and now they make me want to gag. So, what else can I munch on if I feel hungry?

  • One of the reasons my doc recommended Rosedale is because I said I wanted to lose weight. But I also have high cholesterol, the bad the good, the triglycerides - everything. So, is it still okay to eat eggs? Is there a limit on how many?

I really want to stick to Rosedale - I know I must make changes for my health.
But I'm feeling a little discouraged today because I'd been on weight watchers where any fruit is fine and doesn't count toward "points" and now it's no fruit... and I'm feeling a little sorry for myself!
Okay, enough ranting. I welcome the feedback!!

    First. You need to really check in with your body, carb hunger is the worst kind of hunger for sure, and it comes around a lot quicker. Once you get used to burning fat and not sugar you will just not feel so hungry all the time, to me it kind of feels like freedom! 2nd; Check in, are you really hungry or is it something else, boredom, sadness, frustration, if you are really hungry, then eat something - not a whole bag of nuts, but 10.. allow your body to register with the brain that you have eaten something this takes about 10-20 minutes. If you are hungry in an hour eat something else. You know that what you were doing was not working, so it will take some effort to change that. Avocados are a great snack, eggs are great to, remember each one is about 6-7 grams of protein so count that in your daily. Eggs actually contain the best all round nutrients, protein, fat and needed cholesterol. On our website there are several articles about cholesterol you should read them. I actually often make almond cookies, so if I fancy a snack I enjoy one of those, they are easy to make in about 10 minutes, we also have these with us when we travel in case we cannot get our hands are anything rosedale good for a while. You will be craving things right now that contain sugar, like an alcoholic craves a glass of something. Every morning I love having a protein drink (make sure on the label it is not filled with sugar, carbs-fiber=true sugar). If it is hard right now, it is because the addiction in your body is really trying to have you feed it, so in a way it is working, keep going and push through this phase, on the other side is a way easier, healthier you. The yahoo rosedalediet group will have a ton of suggestions that they have tried and succeeded with.

    Thank you, Fiona. I definitely feel the sugar/carb addiction fighting me to feed it -- that's a good description. I have noticed, related to your suggestion, that when I want fruit what I really want is water. So I had some herbal nonsweetened team instead and it helped. As for hunger, it will take some time, I guess, to know what true hunger feels like. There's a difference between being truly hungry and WANTING carb/sweets, you're right. I'll check out the yahoo group for sure. THANK YOU!
    Oh, one more thing: what's the word on squash?

    spagetti squash would be an option, there are many different type of squash you can open up the others after your first 3 weeks.
