    This is a first.

    • How long have you been following the recommendations made by Dr. Rosedale?

    Hello Ken,

    THAT was a fast reply

I did a LCHF diet from Jan 2013 to May 2013 and had to stop for the same
reason. I have asked every expert I could but no solution found except as
Volek and Phinney suggest eating more salt and taking potassium and
magnesium which I did every day but no help

I went back to a low fat diet and in one week all symptoms went away but I
did put on weight - of course
I battled along till I found the Swedish LCHF web site from Dr. Andreas
Eensfeldt and started the diet again with the same result

It worried me as as I became a Member I could asked him the same question
and he answered to either increase my protein or/and my carbs and as I did
not bother to much about my carbs I increased my protein to around 100-120
    a day

I do check my blood sugar levels and they just increased and increased (now
at last I do understand WHY)

I never give ip searching as this LCHF diet is the only diet where I can
eat and not starve and keep my weight of 47 kg which is perfect for me and
    doctor approved

I take no medication and have no known health programs so far I know except
the ones mentioned when starting this type of diet

Eventually by searching the Net I found Dr. Ron Rosedale and having had his
book many, many years ago, I was not ready for what he wrote but now after
    all that trying I am
Now he is the only one I believe in, I feel very strongly about this as no
other LCHF diet worked for me
My blood sugar levels dropped immediately after a few days to 70-90 range
over the day from much higher by following his recommendations

I am no exception in this problem, if one has a change and go to
reddit/Keto diet and search for heart palpitation there are plenty of
people there who suffer the same thing and all refer to more salt,
magnesium and potassium which I do not want to take in high doses as it
says it can kill, at least this is what I read
Or maybe a Google search on Ketogenic diet and heart palpitations

Otherwise I just LOVE the diet, coming from a vegan diet for many years,
the high meat diet never really suited me, but Dr. Rosedale's Diet is just
fine for me with some fish, eggs and lean chicken, I do not mind adding
this to all the good fats and salads

I am so surprised this is nowhere covered in detail by most LCHF people's
    site

Any more questions, please let me know, I am glad to answer

    Thanks again,

    Theresia

I am not aware of Dr. Rosedale's diet being associated with anything like this.

Dr. Ron is very busy but if time permits he may have a response. I had irregular heart beats for years but have not since following Dr. Ron's Diet. It was less than a year when I became aware that I no longer had them.

Something of this nature would require Dr. Rosedale to examine you, but, please keep in mind that he has closed his practice and at present doesn't do any consulting. He is traveling globally, conducting teaching seminars, researching and writing.

    Yes Ken, I understand

I am far away from you people so even if he practiced your suggestion would
    not be possible
I will keep on reading his site and see what I can find as I have no
intention to stop his diet now as I otherwise feel happy and fine eating
    his way
I see he says to take a minimum of 200 mg potassium a day (plus magnesium),
how much more could one take for my weight?
Is it possible to have an answer on that question

    Kind regards,
    Thanks for trying to help
