Overeating on a low carb diet
I live in Sweden and here we have a diet called LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) which I have used for 9 weeks now with great results on my body weight and blood glycose levels. This LCHF is allmost identical to your own diet.
I know that it is allmost impossible to eat too much food on this type of diets. You have however researched your diet very well and my question is:
What happens in the body if I overeat?
I will hardly gain any weight so does the body go into repair mode and use the extra fat to do this or is it something else that happens?

Greetings sm2uf,
It appears that your question is directed toward Dr. Ron but I have a couple questions.
In your LCHF diet, is your carb intake based on non-fiber or fibered carb and what is your daily protein intake per meal?

Great questions Ken in response. What we find is the body gets very efficient at burning fat. Though if you over eat a lot, apart from being very uncomfortable then you might start to gain weight. Maintenance and repair is already kicked into gear when you are a fat burner, and
just eating when you are hungry
Eating more does not mean more repair!Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your answer. It was very helpful.
I have Dr Ron Rosedales book "The Rosedale Diet" and have read it and it explains much more about how the low-carb diets really works. Especially about not eating to much protein. I had no knowledge beforehand that the basal body temperature becomes a degree lower and when I checked it, my basal body temperature was in fact a degree lower. That's the sign that my aging has slowed down and that the body is in repair mode.
I started with the LCHF diet at www.dietdoctor.com but got interested in how these kind of diets really works and got a reference to Dr Ron Rosedale and imported his book to Sweden and I recomend it to people that want's to know more about how things works. The Rosedale diet says to be more careful with saturated fats the first three weeks. Afterwards it's the same thing as our Swedish LCHF.
I have seen alot of presentations on youtube.com of Dr Rosedale and I just would like to see and hear more of him. It's also nice to see that he looks younger than 50 years of age and he is according to my understanding close to 70 years old.
