Greetings Ron

From Dr. Ron's website - Nutritional Recommendations
ALLOWED DAILY
Carbohydrate Sources
Onion ― garlic, leeks, scallions, chives
===================================
The reference you gave is for 1 cup of chopped onion (160gram) - while 7g is a lot of sugar, however, 1 cup chopped (160g) of onion is an enormous amount of onion to eat at one time. I enjoy having a slice of onion with my salad but I don't think I could handle 1 cup of chopped (160g) onion at one meal.
• Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery also has X-amount of sugar as well as Pecans, Almonds, Cashews — I suspect then that eating in excess of a good thing can turn into a bad thing.

I know it appears on the rosedale manu as I have the book. I just wanted to know what Fiona says about it.

Oops! Sorry Ron, you didn't mention Fiona by name so I assumed you were seeking a reply in general.
My bad ...

Hi Ron and Ken,
Funny as a few years ago I asked Ron the same thing, as I was shocked to see onions so high! There are some other good qualities in onions as there is in garlic. Also like Ken mentioned a cup at a time one might not have in a salad, but I was adding it to a stew, soup, stir fry etc with ease until realizing just how high they were I cut them out and went back to a few slices here and there.
Great question... and answers...

So I assume Ron knew that, but felt that the high amounts of sulfur and minerals do compensate for its high sugar intake.
I think onions should be in "limited use".

Agreed. He knew it, just also knew that most don't naturally go over the top on onions.
