Milk with Coffee
Hello,
I started off well on this diet having never been able to loose
wait before. I lost 5lbs in the first 7-9 days. I've been on the
diet for a month now and keep going up and down 2lbs. In total I've
lost between 6-8lbs and it won' shift. So I am getting discouraged.
I eat two eggs for breakfast, a salad with either salmon, goats
cheese, or chicken breast and the same for dinner but usually with
veg instead of salad. I snack on nuts and red peppers. My only
cheats are 2-3 coffees with milk a day. I can't seem to break that
habit as it lifts my mood. Could that be the reason for the slow
progress? I usually walk at a good pace 30-40 minutes a day. I'd
like to loose 20lbs in total.
Any advice please.

I personally encourage you not to cheat, as you have mentioned
It appears as though you are still in the sugar burning mode and most likely the up & down is water retention.

• Do you use any dressing on those salads, most dressings have sugar as does carrots
• Do you inadvertently use sugar in that coffee?

Hang in there Vivienne, you can do this

Hi Vivienne, Great answer Ken.. right on, thank you. The weight loss during the first week is typically fluid. It will come off, just remember how long it took you to gain in, and when you lose that fat and maintain the program it will stay off and you will feel fantastic. The weight loss is a side kick, the direction your change your health is the true destination. Regarding the milk, yes like Ken said there is sugar in that so make some changes. I am a hard core tea drinking Irish gal ;-) I did switch to a caffeine free tea (big deal for me) and I did switch to a little half and half in my tea from the regular 2%.. and now I am actually having most of my tea now without milk at all. Also muscle is heavier than fat, so measure yourself as your scales might not be changing but you might be losing fat, also getting a scales that also measures fat % will help too.
Ken and I are rooting for you!
