Diet and weight loss easier right before ovulation
Hi,
I have been doing a moderate protein, low carb (20 grams or less) and high fat diet for 3 months now and notice that I have a hard time getting my blood ketones up in my luteal phase of my menstrual cycle but can get my blood ketones up into nutritional ketosis without any problem during the week before Ovulation. Can the estrogen that my follicles are making be helping my body out with the metabolism? What could be making this be such a good week for me? I would like to extend this weight loss to other weeks if possible. Im not complaining because I dont ever lose weight and this diet is helping that and ridding my symptoms of PCOS.
Notes: I have PCOS and never mesntruate on my own with out provera, this is the first time in my life I have menstruated on my own without medications. It has been consistent each month with the start of the diet. Before this I wouldn't menstruate or take birth control pills and have a super low/non existent estradiol level. (i think 11 pg/ml ??) I am 33.
Any ideas?

Keep doing what you are doing. Blood ketones are left over from what your body does not burn.
