does red wine raise insulin levels? Is that the mechanism that keeps blood sugar low or is it that it stops gluconeogenesis?

Red wine relaxes you if you are a little stressed out, the stress will raise blood sugar.

I'm more interestd in the insulin effects than the blood sugar. If I'm trying to keep my insulin low, I don't want to spike it with wine, at least for right now. And you are correct, it does relax a person, LOL

Dr. Ron said he does not believe it does on its own, if it is dry red wine.
