protein powder and weight loss
I have been using a protein powder for my smoothies made from brown rice and peas. It has no sweetener other than stevia and tastes pretty good. I was using just 1/2 a scoop because it has 25 g of protein per sccop. But I've been on the plan for almost a week and haven't lost any weight yet. Could this be the problem?
I'd hate to lose my smoothies- I enjoy them and was making them with pure cocoa powder and just a bit of stevia to avoid the fruit since I'm in the first 3 weeks.
Also, I am SO TIRED!!! I know you've written that this is normal, but how long till it normalizes?
Thanks for your time. Your plan makes sense to me. I've been doing another low carb plan for the last 3 years and lost 30 lbs. very quickly. I never lost the last 10 I had hoped to. After a year I began to gain some of my weight back. Now I've regained 12 lbs. back and I'm ready to dry something different.
Because I am always hungry, I thought your plan would be good for me. I am hungry even after dinner is over. So I think I'm a good candidate for your plan.
Thanks again for your time and for caring enough to answer.

Dear Feige, if you can take a photo or link me to the nutritional label for your smoothie so we can double check it is ok. Though weight loss is not the primary goal which is ultimately a healthier you, most people always loose some weight in the form of fluid during the first week. Make sure you are taking magnesium and potassium as typically people loose fluid. Here is a good one, Twinlab CellMins Potassium and Magnesium, 180 Capsules (Pack of 2)
Your questions are great ones, and will also help others learn, would it be ok for us to make it public on our site?

Here's the link, or if you can't see it, I have cut and pasted the info below:

I searched for this one because I keep strictly kosher and wanted a good non dairy protein powder. I have trouble digesting whey protein powder.
Below is the info:

Nutribody Protein ® is unlike any protein health supplement on the market. It is a non-soy, all vegetarian protein that has all the high protein benefits of a dairy/whey protein without the digestive side effects or cholesterol. It has all the natural health advantages of a soy protein, but Nutribody’s vegan protein powder is a scientifically designed blend of rice and pea protein to offer higher Protein Efficiency Ratio, no allergies, and will not disturb hormone balances. Then we added a clinically proven, highly effective amino acid, Citrulline Malate, to optimize circulation and reduce fatigue. The end result is not just another protein, but BioDigestible, nutrient-rich, high-performance, Nutribody Protein ®.

this looks good, and pea and rice protein combined will give you a complete protein as well.

A good product for vegans is Seacoast's Vegan Protein Powder.
This is suitable for hardcore vegans, raw food fans, and pro athletes.
