question about Facebook comment - worst evil - high protein vs high carbs?
Dr. Rosedale and the team, you posted: "When asked what is the worst evil; high protein or carbs, Dr. Rosedale answered high protein is the most detrimental for ones long term health."
I just want to make sure that it's not a typo and you indeed think that high protein, like stake every day, is more harmful then eating high carbs - pasta every day.
I have read a lot of stuff written by you, so while I understand the importance of keeping your protein intake low, I was under the impression that the carbs are much worse for you (via their effect on inflammation, insulin, glacation, etc..) then protein, but now you are saying the opposite...
can you please clarify...
thanks

Both are bad, as you know the Rosedale program is all about keeping very low carb, but if one goes high protein it is also very detrimental effecting accelerated aging much of which will also turn in to sugar, thus raise insulin and all the other things that carbs do. Having a steak everyday is fine, as long as you keep within your allowed protein count for your body. Most menstruating women seem to be able to eat more red meat but for males or post menopausal women they should check their ferritin levels if eating a lot of red meat.

yes, you can make it public of course, thank you for the reply.
but I'm still confused. I understand that both are bad. I understand that too much protein is bad for you and we need to keep it within the allowed count. that's very clear to me. But I thought that high carbs are much worse then high protein. Was my understanding wrong?
Can you please confirm that Dr Rosedale said that High protein is worse then high carbs.
thank you again.

Dear Sennett,
If someones allowed protein requirement is around 60 grams of protein, and they were having 200 grams or more, then this would be a lot more detrimental than having some carbs, however both are not good. The question was asked in an extreme if I had to say which was the worst evil. Hope this helps.
