Hello, can I have pomegrantes on this plan or are they too sugar laden?

I tried this plan years ago and suffer from severe constipation-what
can help me?
I have now : sausage fingers (per MDs) , swollen abdomen, ankles and
wrists.
Have given up all gluten in last 6 weeks, no change in swelling.

Have trouble with anxiety all my life, driving now a challenge...age 55.
Always exercised, still do but the 30 lbs or so of fluid -no one can
help me.

My thanks,
Kathleen (love the book)

    Dear Kathleen,

Pomegranates are pretty high on the fructose/sugar scale, you can see the link below for just a smaller 4in it is around 42 grams of sugar (carbs-fiber=sugar)

The diet will do wonders for your ailments and most in your situation see improvements in a few short weeks. Add more oil to your diet and also take liquid fish oil, like the one from Carlsons in a glass bottle, also magnesium and potassium.

Wishing you the best of health.

    Thank you , Fiona.
    I appreciate your response.

I enjoy red wine and the book indicates that is okay. (less than the glass I have been having)

I would still like to keep the red wine and was concerned that was causing my swelling.

    Thanks again,
    Kathleen

    Fiona,
I regret asking another question ~ I am truly so swollen and in dire need of the correct advice to purchase what I need.
When you say more "oils" what kind do you mean, please?

Magnesium....I know of tablet kind and Calm ( a powder) or is mag and potassium together in a supplement?

    My deepest thanks....
    Kathleen

    Kathleen,
Best to never get a tablet form but always a capsule form of magnesium and potassium which you can get at the vitamin shoppe, you will take at least 2 am and pm. Oil, people tend to gravitate back to being low fat, we want you to have some fat, in anything you cook you can use butter or coconut oil, in salads use olive oil, eat avocados, almonds all of these are excellent sources of good fats. Red wine; Dr. Ron says if you are stressed and if this helps, then reducing your stress will help reduce your sugars as stress causes them to rise, it is not the wine that reduces the sugars.. the wine might calm you down. Though in your situation you might try getting down to basics and being very strict and see how you feel, then introduce a new thing, like a glass of wine and see if you see a difference. Clearly something is going on, if you go down to the basics then some of the other symptoms will clear and you can see what the main issues are. Sadly Dr. Ron cannot treat you over the web like this.

Thank you Fiona. I am so appreciative.
If Dr. Ron treats patients ( I am in New York State) I will explore if that is something I can do!

Have a wonderful weekend and blessings,
    Kathleen

Right now Dr. Ron is not taking patients. Your question is one many can learn from, would it be ok to make your question public? your email would always remain private between us, let me know.

    Many thanks

    HI Fiona,

Thank you for asking and certainly my question can be made public.

Especially, if people can learn from it!

Thank you again for being so kind.
