Is a high fat diet appropriate for toddlers/children?

I have been following Dr Rosendale's diet with success, and eat a strict paleo diet. I try to feed my children a paleo diet, and was wondering whether a high fat diet is appropriate for them, when they are also eating a good amount of carbohydrates (from fruits, sweet potato and some rice). Should I be reducing fat from butter, oils, nuts etc?

Dr. Rosedale is traveling right now. Though I have heard him say to adults not to mix the two, as the carbohydrates will maintain a person burning sugar as their primary fuel, and so then the fat will be stored.

In a child, at least an active child they will burn off the sugar pretty quickly. We have many friends that have their kids eat the same as them, the Rosedale diet with great success. Though it does take a little more effort, and their kids get tempted with others things here and there but for the most part they are probably a good 80% Rosedale.

We even have two awesome kids of friends in California who make their own kyle chips and sell them in the school playground, they also often teach other kids about the detriments of eating bad. Also, 'paleo' can be many different things today, but for the most part it is fresh, organic, grass fed, good oils, veggies.

It can also be too high on protein and to high on some starches. However, it is still so much better than the standard SAD diet and processed foods. Keep up the good work in teaching your kids what food really does, and how their outcomes will be different depending on what they eat.

Remember that carbohydrates are not an essential nutrient, not for you, your kids or any life.

    Hi Vicki,

I Just wanted to let you know that sadly in the future all questions answered will be made public. We are in the middle of changing our website to disclose that as well. We had one person who asked many questions, and all we kept private, but on one I asked if we could make it public and let her know that her email would always remain private, to which she agreed.

Anyway, she now it going quite bonkers because her question was public, along with her approval for it to be, as her name first name was still showing. Just defending had been exhausting, though it is quite clear we have always maintained her wishes. So, sadly at least for the time being it will effect others, as they will not be able to receive as freely the good work of Dr. Ron sharing many personal answers and questions without ever charging.

This lady is posting everywhere, false accusations against Dr. Ron posting all private messages public which has never been the case. Just wanted to be upfront with you, and to let you know our messages from the past will always remain public, unless you request for them to be made public for others to learn.

But new questions on a new thread we will disclose that they will be public and ask if you wish to continue.

Wishing you and your family the best of health.

    Hi everybody,

I have a friend whose daughter is sick almost every month. This fever that cough and not sleeping well. She was about 4 - 5 years then ( now 7 years old ) and her front tooth never seems to grow. I told her to go with the Rosedale Diet. Her tooth grows. She never has any of this or that sicknesses. She takes lots of VCOs.

Alan, that is great news. Do you mind if we add it to our testimonial page?
