protein amount
I have your ebook and made the wonderful lentil chard soup but for some reason it says two servings and left overs...it made a big bath..I am happy for that..but.....how much protein is in one cup and how much are you allowed to eat for controlling the amount of protein..and I thought we are not allowed to eat grains..or legumes..which one is this? How do you know on any of the recipes how much protein your eating...is there a place on your web site that gives the nutrient values? Thank you , Kitty

Dear Kitty,
I am so sorry that we do not have the nutritional breakdown of the recipes in the book, I wish we had. The recipes were provided by a nutritionalist via Harper Collins. I often use this site http://nutritiondata.self.com/ to work out what protein and carb/sugar amounts foods have, remember carbs-fiber=sugar. Lentils are a little high on the carb/sugar count http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/legumes-and-legume-products/4338/2 about 12 grams of sugar per 100 grams, and in a cup there is about 198 grams. So based on this I would have it as a treat once in a while.
Wishing you the best of health.

I was wondering is there a web site that if you listed the items and amounts in a recipe that you could at the end get the values of let's say perishes, fats, carbs total to log in your daily food log? Kitty

fitday.com is one I have heard some people using, however I did not care for it to much. Let me know if you find something..
