I recently started taking 30 mg Vvanse daily. I notice rhat my blood sugars won't go lower than 116 no matter how careful i am with diet. 2 hours after my eggs with avocado and zucchini my bs usually runs 102 or so. Today it is 116. It wont budge off 116 even if i dont eat for 6 hours. I am pre diabetic and take 1000mg metformin daily.

Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate (L-lysine-D-amphetamine; sold as Vyvanse) is a psychostimulant prodrug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine chemical classes). We cannot comment on this drug you are taking as we do not know your situation or why you are taking it. What I can say is that I have never seen Dr. Rosedale encourage any of his patients to take any of the 'standard of practice' administered drugs for ADHD (which Vyvanse is commonly used for).

The body is a wonderful piece of majestic machinery, every drug you take and all the foods you eat, your stress levels, sleep patterns will all effect the overall health of the totality. If your blood sugar are out of line, you can probably go a little deeper and see maybe your leptin is a little higher as well.

Sorry we can not treat your case as we cannot give a proper informed answer without knowing the full history and labs.

Wishing you the best of health.
