Advice about Niacinamide for Children (Type I Diabetes)
A comment made by a fellow patient at the Barbara Davis Center prompted me to search the internet about cures for Type I diabetes. My internet search led me to Dr. Rosedale. My son just turned 7, he was diagnosed with Type I almost 8 months ago. He is apparently still in the "honeymoon phase." I'm curious about Niacinamide. I seriously doubt I could afford a consultation (let alone treatment) with an orthomolecular doctor and I don't want to experiment with my child's health, but I would greatly appreciate any advice you could offer. Is it likely to salvage some Beta cells by trying alternatives? I just feel helpless and clueless. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated... (please)

Get your child off of carbohydrates. There are a number of supplements that could help but first and foremost 85% will be changing his diet to a very low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet. Shelley, a patient of Dr. Rosedale's was a type I, yes 'was' though this is very unusual but she worked very closely with Dr. Ron right from the start. She has a wonderful website www.meandmydiabetes.com. Also another patient was a young girl, also diagnosed as a type I, she is now on very little insulin and happy & healthy, they also created a website and business about healthy food, www.behealthyinstitute.com.
Wishing you and your family the best of health.
