Poor Lipid Results
42 Male 6'0" 230 lbs
I recently had my Lipids Taken
LDL 205
HDL 27
TriGl 891
Hi Triglycerides are common on my Father's side. My doctor made it
sound like I need to make final preparations with my 891. I started
exercising more and limiting my intake of white bread and sugar. Are
Triglycerides that dangerous and can you help me bring them in balance?
I am a widower with 4 kids and I need to make sure I am doing what I
need to so I stay healthy.
Thank you,
Jason

Dear Jason,
We are so very happy that you reached out to us. PLEASE, please, follow the diet, not just a little as half way is worse, raise your fats, and still eat carbohydrates will be a terrible combination. Dr. Ron said he promises you, do the diet 100%, and your will see your Triglycerides come down and much more. We have had patients up at the 1000 mark do incredibly well and there is no reason you should not as well. Jason, it touched me when you said 'I am a widower with 4 kids and I need to make sure I am doing what I need to so I stay healthy', yes do you do, not just to keep you around for a lot longer but also to teach them by example so they do not grow up to be just like Daddy, what a terrible gift to pass on. That your father had the same symptoms does not mean you have to accept it as your fate, you have a 'pre disposition' but you also have the ability to change that. Though there are restrictions and we cannot treat you over the web, we can share with you what other patients have done in your situation. Let us know what medications you are taking and in return I want you to read and digest everything Rosedale, the book at least twice, all of his interviews on our blog, the audios, the papers, if you do not understand them the first time, then read them again. We want you to be wipe the black board on everything you have heard about health, and not just follow our program but understand the science and don't mix and match programs. Give it 110% for 30 days, retest your numbers in 14 days. There will be some supplements that you need to take as well which will expedite and make easier your transition to becoming a fat burner and also I will check with Dr. Ron others that will be beneficial for you. Any other important information let us know.
I am one of 4 kids, and there was only my mum there to take care of us, it would of then and now devastate my world if anything happened to her.
Wishing you the best of health.

Thank you for the reply. I was actually hoping for a different answer that the high Triglycerides were not as detrimental as modern science makes them out to be. In 2003 I had my blood tested and my triglycerides were 1100. I started walking 30 minutes a day and eating less. I lost about 25 pounds and when I retested, about 4 weeks later, my triglycerides went down to 350. So apparently I can significantly lower my Triglycerides very quickly. I like bread and pasta but do not eat sweets nor do I eat fast food. I think my biggest problem is lack of exercise and carrying an extra 25 pounds around. I also have high uric acid levels and suffer from Gout.
I started exercising again and will do another test in about 30-45 days to compare my results and will post them here. In the meantime, I will buy the book and read it.
My father is 68 and is in tip top shape. He exercises every day and had done so for 20+ years. His Triglycerides are in the 200 range last time they were checked.
On a personal note, I take offense to your comment about my children growing up to be just like Daddy and a terrible gift to pass on. I do lead by example and have high moral standards and all of my children revere me and look up to me. The fact that I have high Triglycerides does not make me a bad person. My late wife had text book perfect Lipids and was always at a very healthy weight and she ended up dying from Stage 4 breast cancer so you never know your fate.
I recently started on 300mg day of Alipurinol and I take a triple strength fish oil capsule with CoQ10.

Also would Dr. Ron be willing to meet me? I could fly out to wherever you are. I want to educate myself as much as I can.

Dear Jason,
I deeply apologize, leading by example was only meant on the topic of health and diet which is what we were talking about on our emails, I by no means was meaning how you parent at all, we are just talking about health, and your future health. I am very sorry I should not have moved to a personal note at all. The best advise at this point would be to read the The Rosedale Diet book, as you will quickly understand that your bread and pasta turn into sugar, so the end results it not that much different than eating sweets. Your diet will be first and formost the quickest way to seeing amazing results, exercise is just a small part of it.
Wishing you the best of health.

That's OK. I overreacted. It was a tough weekend being mothers day and I'm on edge. I read some things on your website and it does seem contradictory. I'll read the book and take it all into consideration. It seems like a drastic lifestyle change and loving Italian food doesn't help.
Thanks again.
Jason

I cannot imagine for a second how tough it must of been this Sunday, I am very sorry for your loss. Regarding pasta, I am a good ole Irish gal, bread and potatoes everyday all my life, and it is over 4 years now and I cannot believe I don't miss them at all, I never thought I would ever be able to live without them. There is also a yahoo community called rosedalediet, it is a great place to hang out and ask some questions as many there have been following the rosedale lifestyle for many years and are a great help to the new comers.
