fresh ground wheat for bread
Hi Fiona,
We grind our own wheat to make our bread. I substitute Xylitol for
part of the sugar. Is it ok to eat a small slice of this once a
day? I'm not trying to lose weight.
Thank you,
Jean Ann

Dear Jean Ann,
We would use rice bran, or add rice bran rather than use pure wheat, and/or mix with some sprouted grains which will lower the converted sugar amount from possibly somewhere around 20 grams of sugar to 5 grams of converted sugar (carbohydrates-fiber=sugar). Weight lose was never Dr. Ron's primary goal though it was often a bonus. His goal is to allow the body to operate at the optimal health. One can be nice slim and slender and yet still have heart disease or cancer, ones weight will not be an indicator to ones true health.
Best of health,
Fiona and the Rosedale Team.

Hi Fiona,
I finally got around to buying the rice bran. I added only about 1/2 cup to start - it seemed to make it really heavy. The bread turned out great. I used a bit of dough to make up a small loaf in a mini pan so I would only get a small piece at a time. Funny thing though - I've been off bread for so long now that even a small piece made my stomach bloat up terribly. Guess I'll have to stick to the low carb wraps.
Thank you as always for such excellent advice.
Jean Ann

Thank you so much for the feedback on the rice bran bread. It is amazing, once we stop the carbs how uncomfortable it is when you go back even just to a few slices of bread.. I guess just not worth it ;).

I remember what you all say - that if you want to cheat make it something you really want, so that it will be worth it. I thought of that a week ago when were were at a party. The grandmother had fixed all homemade foods even desserts. I resisted a lot of the food but I couldn't resist the homemade chocolate pie that was even made with lard. Waking up in the middle of the night with sweats and feeling awful the next day was worth it. Thank goodness those have to have cravings are very few now thanks to all y'alls wonderful work.

;-). Set that bar high, there are a few times I had a little nibble and it just was not good enough to cheat... Glad you remember, like you said if you are going to do it, then really make it something special. Glad you are doing so well, Dr. Ron has made such a difference in so many lives, it is wonderful to get the feedback.
