Recommended Labs
I have read Dr. Rosedale's book and I have not been able to find the list of recommended labs that are supposed to be in the "Rosedale Recommendations" section. My cholesterol is very high (over 300). I am 59, female. I have been following the Primal diet. My doctor, of course, wants me to take statins. I would like to get all the tests that Dr. Rosedale recommends including the VAP or NMR tests. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Where can I get these tests?

Many tests you can just walk into the lab and order the tests yourself, try LabCorp and if you pay with cash there and then they give quite a good discount. Here are some typical labs that Dr. Ron calls for, however it all depends on the patient and their personal situation as to the complete list of labs he might want to see. Hopefully you can find a doctor that has done their own research and who reads science studies in their spare time and that knows that statins is not what should be prescribed.
Chemistry screen (electrolytes, liver enzymes, creatinine, glucose, bun, uric acid, triglycerides)
Free T-3
TSH
CRP high sensitivity
HB-A1C
CBC
VAP
Hope this help.
Best of health.
