at the end of my rope!!
Hi Dr. Rosedale. I am driving myself a little crazy lately and could really use help. I can't seem to find a doctor i feel knows what they are talking about (especially in the low carb world.)
I've been completely sugar free for over 6 months now (was vegan prior) my blood sugar rarely gets over 101 (i check it for fun) but i haven't menstruated since loosing weight in the start of the diet (about 8lbs) i am at my ideal weight right now, 99lbs on a 4'11'' medium frame. also i have had mind controlling food cravings lately, mainly for fatty things like coconut and almonds, and got very depressed again. I was doing so well for a while, all i recently charged was less protein and less cardio, more weights. i eat about 30-45 grams of protein a day usually. I gain weight easily even though i am a pretty active person, but i also loose fast when i cut calories a little.
I am studying to be a low carb nutritionist, but i am loosing hope because i cant even fix myself.
Also, i take betaine hcl with pepsin powder at every meal due to my lack of stomach acid.
do these pieces add up to to anything for you.
do you take clients? any help would be soo appreciated!
thanks - Ash

Dear Ash,
We hear you with regards finding other doctors that really get it! I wish we could clone Dr. Ron and have him in every state, though sadly we do not have a doctor we can direct you to that would treat in the same way that Dr. Ron does. I know that Jimmy Moore has a list of doctors by state that are low carb doctors which might be a good starting point. http://lowcarbdoctors.blogspot.com/.
It would be hard for Dr. Ron to guide you in any way with such a limit amount of details, and also risk missing some critical data and he is not taking any patients on right now. Funny, I also check my blood sugar for fun as well, glad there are a few of us. Craving for fatty things like almonds and coconut is not a bad craving to have at all, it might be your body in need of some fuel as you sound quite lean. Keeping your workouts to every other day which gives your body a day to recover is always a good idea and lowering your cardio to moderate sounds like you are on the right track for sure.
Keep us posted on your progress.
Best of health.
