I am a 60 year old male who is somewhat overweight. I bought your book a couple of years ago and followed the plan for about month. I lost a bunch of weight, felt great and my mother thought I looked healthy. I fell off the plan but I feel the need to go back on as I am getting older and have marginal blood pressure and do not feel as good as I should. I am fairly active around the house because I own a couple of acres of property and I do not want to drop dead of a sudden heart attack someday. I am easily following the plan now.

I noticed some time ago that your web site was gone. No one seemed to know where you were. I thought maybe you died or had second thoughts about your science. I recently found your web site by searching about the Rosedale diet. It is good to have you back.

One thing I noticed from your site is that you are no longer strict about eating meat and you allow a little cheese. That is good because those are the area's I would fall off the plan. I would eat one piece of string cheese and other kinds of meat like pork chops on occasion.

Do you feel that saturated fat is not that big of a deal?

I really appreciate the energy you have put into this life's work. There are so many that are benefitting without lifting a finger because you have done all the work.

    Dear Peter,

Great to have you back! Dr Rosedale closed his practice about 3 years ago so that he could focus full time on teaching larger groups and research around the world which has been very successful.

Dr Rosedale would prefer you don't eat pork but other meats are fine as long as you do not have a high ferritin level (too much iron). Cheeses, he only restricts the heavier cheeses for the first few months as they are a little harder to burn, so once the body has gotten more skilled at burning fat then all the cheeses are fine, even the ones with higher saturated fats.

We really appreciate that you recognize Dr Rosedale's tireless years of dedication. Dr Rosedale has lead the way in many findings and shared them openly, only requesting that credit be given where credit is due.

It is a great time to get back on the Rosedale wagon before anything starts going wrong.

Good luck! Also, do you mind if I make your question public on the Rosedale site so others can learn, you also have a great sense of humor which wil make anyone smile!

    The Rosedale Team
