Manna from Heaven
I have type 2 diabetes. I tried the Manna from Heaven bread and one slice of it raised my blood sugar by almost 100 points.

Thank you so much for letting us know, we are also looking in to this as well, as it seems maybe they have changed their ingredients, as something seems different from when Dr. Ron first tried it out over 8 years ago. We also saw a report at http://www.meandmydiabetes.com/2011/10/26/net-carbs-vs-fiber-carbs-... and interview conducted with a good friend of ours, Shelley. In this interview they were talking about their net 1 carb bread but similar issues with raising blood sugars. We will let you know what we find out.
Many thanks for letting us know, please keep us posted.

I've been testing blood sugar levels after many different foods out of curiosity and have noticed lots of foods with low net carbs are really not low. Based on what i've seen on myself so far, I would only look a total carbs and not trust any net carb claims on packages. Net carbs might be ok for real foods like vegies but any processed foods i would not trust net carb counts. I've personally gave up all processed foods lately but have been testing alot of them to help convince other family members that they are really not so good as well. Just my 2cents. :)

Kurchy,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I find that I can't eat any grain products, regardless of what the label says about net carbs.

Yes the more studies I read the more I'm convinced grains are just all around nasty, we were never designed to eat them and are best to eliminate them completely. There is a book that just came out a couple months ago called wheat belly you might want to check out if your interested. I haven't had a chance to read it yet myself but heard an interview with the author Dr. William Davis and found it quite interesting informative. That was the final straw that made me completely eliminate all grains from my diet.

Thanks Kurchy... funny, it is really the only way to know on some food as the labels not quite give us the true picture it seems.
