Carnitine
Hi Dr Rosedale and support,
I purchased some carnitine today. I read your article here
http://nourishedmagazine.com.au/blog/articles/insulin-resistance-the-real-culprit
I've been told by iridologists that I have insulin resistance affecting my
endocrine and digestive systems, both my uncles died from diabetes up to the
point of amputation, another uncle on the other side of the family died of
bowel cancer quite young. I seem to have inherited weaknesses in both these
areas and have been sick most of my life. I also have celiacs disease plus
many other things that need to heal like leaky gut etc.So anyway I am
interested in giving your diet a go. I have used carnitine before and would
like to give it another go. I bought the NHS Acetyl L-Carnitine today. It's
a 100g container. It says the serving size is 125mg a day and all up the
100g makes 12 serves.
In your article you said to take as much cartinine as possible. I need to
lose 3-5kgs - how much would I need to take every day to lose that much
weight? Can I go over the 125mg or is that naturally how much the body can
process? how many teaspoons is125mg?
Thanks
Marie

You should be taking 500mg twice a day, 1 gram a day, so 100 grams will give you a 100 days worth. The diet would give you such great results, please read the book so you understand it. It will take about 2-3 weeks to have your body go from a sugar burner (which you are now) to a fat burner, which for ultimate health you would need to be. There will be some addictions for your body to over come, once you get through that transitional stage you will have so much more energy than before! Make sure you take magnesium and potassium for sure, and fish oil is a great every day supplement that would be very helpful for you.
The best of health to you.
The Rosedale Team.

Thanks fiona
In this article he wrote

he says:
*Carnitine*
Carnitine is a shuttle. It takes fatty acids into the cell. You can’t burn
fat without it. I say they should take as much carnitine as they can afford.

also in the article he says
They can have as much glutamine as they want and as much carnitine as they
can afford. The more the better

Glutamine was recommended to take more only if someone were having sugar cravings, to get through the transition period.
