Protein Counting
I recently started this diet and am wondering if you have the amount of protein per serving of the certain meals listed in your book. I half each recipe, as it says 'serves 2' on most recipes and I want to eat one serving. It is recommended that I eat around 100 g of protein daily, but, I don't think that I am getting close to that and don't really have an accurate way of counting the protein in certain meals in your book. The turkey burger is an easy one to count the protien, but others like the Country French Soup is much harder to count. Also, when I halved the soup recipe I had leftovers, was I supposed to eat two bowls? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We do not have the exact amounts of protein for the recipes, though once you get familiar with everything you are cooking you will be able to get an idea what each individual ingredients adds. http://nutritiondata.self.com/ is a great website that I use often when I am using a new ingredient. One concern though is that 100 grams of protein seems really high, what is your ideal weight in kilos, and how tall are you, male or female, and how active are you, are you are runner or quite sedentary?

The part in the book where is has the part where you take measurements and
subtract to find your protein amount is where I found that it suggested 100
grams. I am female, 5'9'' and moderately active with 30-45 min walks daily.
My ideal weight is 150 pounds, my pre-pregnancy weight. I am also nursing,
does that change anything? I see this diet as healthy for my milk supply so
I am not too concerned about that.
Thank you for your help.

150 lbs still has some fat, we all need some fat, so minus about 10-15%, which then would be your lean mass. I always convert to kilos, so 68 kilos (150) - 15% = 57.8 kilos.. which is the same for the protein count, a little more as you are breast feeding, which would be around 65/68 grams of protein. So, chicken the size of a deck of cards has about 15 grams of protein (not the weight, it will weigh more as it also have fat and water). An egg is about 6-7 grams of protein.
