Using 24-Hour C-Peptide to Estimate Insulin
Does Dr Rosedale know of a way to estimate a total 24 hour insulin from the 24 hour c-peptide in urine?
We can - if we are lucky - get our doctors to order insulin series to see our response to glucose. But that gets expensive and at best you end up with a few limited data points, not the total day insulin load. The beauty of c-peptide in a 24-hour urine is it might give us a reasonable clue about how high or low insulin has been over a complete day. We can mix up our diets and then occasionally re-test c-peptide 24-hr urine to see how the diet affected our total insulin load.
The problem is how do we translate the number a lab gives us for the 24 hr c-peptide into some kind of approximate average insulin value over the same 24 hr period?

I know nothing about a c peptide urine test butni have had the blood peptide test that shows I have little insulin output. I also have had the GAD test showing I have an autoimmune condition and require insulin. Both are important as the cpeptide might show you are producing enough insulin but are still insulin resistant. Th GAD test will show antibodies so both are I,portent in determining your type of bs disregulation / diabetes ornif you are insulin resistant but still produce insulin. GAD will tell you more if your body is attacking your pancreas. Both are simple one time blood tests.

24 Hr Urine C-Peptide is used as a cheap method to estimate how
much insulin you secrete in a 24 Hr period. Here's one study:

Any major commercial lab like Labcorp should have such a test, and
it shouldn't be expensive.
